Effective Ways To Actually Start Liking Mondays
People were not made to sit and use technology for hours at a time every single day. Taking breaks (ideally ones of about 10 minutes every 60 to 90 minutes) can help. It is as simple as getting some fresh air, stretching, walking your dog. Whatever you do—do not connect to tech. Remember, your “break” should be an activity that helps calm the brain down. In addition, put something on your to-do list that’s purely for your own pleasure on Mondays (to do during your break time, of course).
Do a retrospective and prospective meditation at the end of every weekend. It’s a practice that helps us realize and make space for what has happened and what will happen. It can strengthen our attention and focus, and actually improve our ability to notice what’s going well in the present. It is time for yourself to make sure you are in line with your inner self and path. Meditate, set your intention for the week, write your goals.
(SCHEDULE A) MEETING
Get the hardest thing done first thing Monday morning. For example, schedule the hardest meetings on a Monday. Why? You get it over with and won’t have anxiety about it for the rest of the week. Do all the work for the meeting Thursday or Friday prior so you are not thinking about it over the weekend. Hitting the ground running and organized on Monday morning (or whenever you start your work week) is one of the best ways to start your week off on the right foot. But avoid doing that planning and organizing over the weekend.
We all have “to do” lists that are never ending. Get rid of those and do a “Must List”. What do you really need to do/really accomplish. We create endless lists for ourselves but at the end of the day, most of them aren’t required, and most can be delegated. Think about what is important to you and what you REALLY need to do in order to achieve your goals.
If you wake up finding it hard to have a positive attitude, then do some work to change your mindset. One thing you can do is write down ten things you are thankful for in your life right now. Showing gratitude for what you have will help you see that there are so many things to be thankful for, all of which are more worthwhile places to focus your energy.
