Philip has been a professional recruiter since 1997, specializing previously in the healthcare field. He joined Deacon Recruiting’s Medical Division in 2004 and quickly turned its focus to radiation oncology, specifically medical physics, dosimetry and radiation therapy, placing professionals in hospitals and clinics nationwide.
Phil was recognized in 2005 for Outstanding Achievement by the Texas Association of Personnel Consultants, and participates in regional and national meetings, seminars and programs in both the recruiting and radiation oncology fields. Deacon Recruiting’s Medical Division is a corporate affiliate of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (AAMD).
Emily received her Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University and Master of Science from Troy State University. After having worked in the field of human resources and recruiting for seven years, she joined Deacon in late 2005 as a recruiter. Emily has been married to her husband, Scott, for 15 years and has one son. Emily and her family currently live in Maryland, where Scott serves in the United States Airforce.
Cathi is the product of a military upbringing. Her mother was in the Air Force, and this allowed the family to travel the world. Cathi spent most of her formative years in Japan and the Philippines. She settled in Texas in 1989.
Cathi received her degree in radiologic technologies in 1992 at Tyler Junior College. After a number of years in the hospital industry, she moved into the corporate side of the industry with a role as a clinical applications specialist with GE-OEC. Here, she earned her green belt in Six Sigma. In 2006, she transitioned into the recruiting industry. Cathi enjoys the positive impact she brings to clients and candidates.
Emily is a native San Antonian with an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been in the recruiting industry for over ten years, specializing in the fields of human resources and office services. Emily is an active member of The Karen Franklin Gastrointestinal Cancer Foundation, The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and various social clubs in San Antonio. Emily has been married to Trey Foster since 2006, and she enjoys spending time with her stepson Zachery and daughter Emma.
Lauren is a director for Deacon. She came to the organization with 11 years of experience in management, sales and marketing, predominantly in the health and fitness arena. Lauren graduated from Texas State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications. She understands that being around people in a customer-centric environment is where she thrives, and so recruiting is a natural progression for Lauren’s career.
A native to San Antonio, Dana joined the Deacon team in the fall of 2011. She started her recruiting career as an associate recruiter and was quickly promoted several times to her current senior director role where she leads the Accounting and Finance Division. Dana utilizes her results-driven approach and Deacon Best Practices to consistently identify the very best candidates for her client companies. Her organizational and planning skills gained throughout her teaching career proved to be a crucial asset when she was recognized as Deacon’s 2012 Rookie of the Year.
Ann is a native San Antonian. After graduating from The University of Texas, Ann practiced in public accounting. Ann has been recognized as an industry leader since she entered the staffing industry in 1988. Ann has received numerous awards for outstanding performance as an executive recruiter and industry leader nationally. Ann was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame by the National Association of Personnel Services for her leadership, innovation and contributions to the staffing industry. Ann received the prestigious 2014 Norbert I. B. Fried Ethics National Award in recognition of her efforts to upgrade the image and practices of the staffing industry. Ann is the founder and CEO of Deacon Recruiting Inc., Deacon Professional Services LLC, and Deacon Real LLC. Deacon continues to grow and is the largest executive search firm in San Antonio and one of the largest privately held recruiting firms regionally.
Ann continues to give back to the community through her many board activities. Ann is on the Advisory Council for the UTSA School of Business. Ann is a past chairman of the board for the National Association of Personnel Services and San Antonio Association of Personnel Consultants; and past executive board member for the Texas Association of Personnel Consultants. Previous community board leadership positions include the International Entrepreneurs Organization, the Battered Women’s Shelter of Bexar County, Arthritis Foundation, and the Junior League of San Antonio. Mrs. Deacon has received distinguished volunteer awards and the President’s Award from various organizations including the San Antonio Association of Personnel Consultants, the Arthritis Foundation, and the Junior League of San Antonio for her significant contributions.
Ann has been married to her husband, Charlie, for 29 years. She has strong family values, and she considers herself fortunate to have close lifelong friends.
