Data Encryption | Cryptography Engineer | SR. Software Developer C | C++ | Linux,TCP/IP | SQL

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design, code, test and troubleshoot new software developed for the commercial market
  2. Maintain and modify existing software
  3. Establish software design goals and verify they are met during development
  4. Develop and document APIs and protocols used when interfacing with external systems
  5. Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor.
  6. Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
  7. Write and maintain programming documentation.
  8. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
  9. Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
  10. Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. 2-5 years experience
  2. Degree in CS or related engineering field. Experience may be substituted for this requirement
  3. C and C++ development
  4. Willingness to learn,
  5. Desire to work in North San Antonio

Additional qualifications:

  1. Linux experience
  2. Experience with TCP/IP networking
  3. Experience with multiple architectures and platforms
  4. GUI design experience
  5. Interest in cryptography
  6. SQL programming and basic understanding of relational databases


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.
  3. Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications.
  4. Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
  5. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
  6. Work with users requires interpersonal skills. This is normally acquired through a combination of a Bachelor’s Degree and two to five years of programming experience.
