Darcy Mix, Director of Community Outreach, chats about charitable projects for Deacon Recruiting in 2009

IHI – Where did the team at Deacon come up with the idea to start a community outreach project?

DM – We decided 2009 was the year to structure how we give back in order to get everyone in the firm involved in a shared vision, devoting time and energy to a cause.

IHI – Which organizations were chosen for this initiative?

DM – We chose clients that are near to our hearts. This year we will be working with Christus Santa Rosa Hospital and the Animal Defense League of San Antonio.

IHI – What will the Deacon Companies being doing to contribute/get involved?

DM – We are working with our contacts within the organizations to fill their most urgent needs. That may mean volunteering man power/hours or donating supplies that are needed for their operations.
